Strathmore-
in-Westchester
marks Levitt and Sons' first venture outside Long Island.  Despite the success of Strathmore-in-Westchester, this community would be Levitt's only venture outside the shores of Long Island for some time, except for its two wartime projects in Norfolk, Va.  When Levitt started to expand its operations on a regional and National basis in 1960, it would never again return to Westchester County.  By this time, land prices were likely considered too high by Levitt standards to build a community that would be profitable for both the company and its buyers.  Nontheless, Strathmore-in-Westchester stands today as an excellent example of the thoughtfulness, care, and pride that went into a Levitt and Sons community, even in the company's early years.

Six home plans are available at Strathmore-in-Westchester.  Each plan is available in several exterior styles for variety and interest, including tradtional, provincial, and Tudor, using combinations of brick, stucco, and stone.
